{4} A level 2 building recording survey of the range of buildings to the rear of 54 High Street prior to conservation and conversion to residential use. Cartographic sources suggest 54b & 54c occupy the footprint of an earlier building, the only physical evidence of which is the stone east-facing elevation. However, the building has undergone extensive, if not total, 19th-century re-building work, leaving an essentially 19th-century building of limited architectural value. Documentary evidence of the building's past dates back to 1787 and includes uses as a brewhouse, shop, schoolroom, public house (known as 'The Warwick House') and butchers.
