Full Description
{1} Farmhouse and attached barns. Early and mid C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone and ironstone with Welsh and Colleyweston slate and corrugated asbestos roofs. House is L-shape plan. 2 storeys. Main front is asymmetrical 3-window range. 6-panel door to left of centre has C19 moulded stone surround with bracketed cornice and pediment over fanlight with radiating glazing bars. Sash windows with glazing bars have similar stone surrounds. Evidence of re-fenestration to first floor right. Ashlar able parapets and kneelers and ashlar stacks at ends. Range of early C18 stables and barns attached to left of main front by roofed carriage arch with C19 slate roof. Plank doors under wood lintel. Elevation of stables with haylofts over abutting the road have 2 blocked door openings with hayloft doors above. Corrugated asbestos roof. Similar range attached at right angles to rear forming 2 sides of a courtyard. Elevation to courtyard has some stable doors under wood lintels. Building attached to rear of farmhouse was probably a granary. Welsh slate roof. External brick stair with plank doors under wood lintel at head and floor. Interiors not inspected but house noted as having some panelling and barns have remains of original roof structures.
