Full Description

{1} Farmhouse. Mid C18, altered C19. Ironstone ashlar, plain-tile roof, stone end stacks. 2-unit, central-staircase plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Central 6-panel door with moulded wood surround, overlight and moulded stone surround with segmental-arched head and keyblock, and straight hood. 12-pane sash windows to ground and 1st floors with moulded stone sills, raised surrounds, segmental-arched heads and key blocks. Large 3-light cellar window to left with chamfered stone mullions. Flight of 7 steps to front door partly enclosed by curved stone-coped walls. Chamfered plinth, raised quoins and storey band, moulded stone eaves, central gabled roof dormer and stone-coped gables with kneelers. 2-storey-and-attic wing to rear right. Single-storey outbuilding range projects forward to right and is probably C17 in part and has one blocked stone mullion window with hood mould, other 2- and 3-light casements and pantile roof; coursed squared limestone. Interior has open-well staircase with slender turned balusters incorporating columns on bulbous feet, 2 to a tread, and ramped handrail.
