Building record 3738/3/2 - Wall & Gatepier c.15m North-West of The Manor House

Brick wall with stone coping and panelled ashlar gatepier built in 1783-1793 as a gate and boundary wall to the manor house.

{1} Wall and gatepier. Late C18/early C19. Brick with ashlar coping and panelled ashlar gatepier attached to right. Forms pair with wall and gatepier approx. 15m. north-east of The Manor House.

{4} A statement of significance was prepared in support of works to the boundary wall. The proposed works comprise the demolition of the wall, which has become dangerously unstable, and subsequently rebuild it using the salvaged bricks and coping stones.
