Full Description

{1} House, now 2 dwellings. Mid C17. Squared coursed lias with thatch roof. Originally 4-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic. 5-window range of irregularly spaced casements with glazing bars, some are leaded casements, all under wood lintels. Window second from right is staircase window with leaded casements and original glass. Evidence of blocked door to right. 2 stone gabled eaves dormers to centre and far left. Gable parapets, that to left is rebuilt in brick, and brick stacks at ridge and end. Rear with two C19 entrances and eaves dormers. C20 conservatory to left. Interior: No.7 has early C18 staircase with plain newels and turned balustrade and fielded-panelled screen at first floor. Both houses have open fireplaces with bressumers, chamfered ceiling beams and original roof structure. Timber framed screen between attics has brick infill. Used for a time as the workhouse.

{4} Fireplace in the kitchen area notable for the large size of the stone lintel. The lintel, however has been badley damaged over the years with cracks and deep "chasing in" marks. The fireplace lintel was exposed after plaster in the kitchen was removed.
