Full Description
{1} House. Mid C16, C18 and C19. Regular coursed lias with ashlar dressings, brick and C20 plain-tile and slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. Gable elevation abutting road has 3-light stone mullion window at ground floor and 2-light wood casement at first floor with projecting sill, probably forming part of an original oriel. C19 panelled door to left under wood lintel. Ashlar gable parapet and central ashlar stack with moulded stone cornice. Side elevation to right is blank. Rear gable a . yard has blocked opening with 4-centred moulded stone head. Brick and stone wing attached to left of road elevation is of 2 storeys. 3-window range of casements with C19 plank doors to far left and in return gable. Elevation to left has semi-circular bread oven projection to rear. Interior has 2 bread ovens with cast iron doors in room to left also base of earlier roof structure, probably a raised cruck. Said to have been a religious house.
