Full Description

{1} Dovecote. Early C17. Regular coursed lias with Collyweston slate roof. Rectangular plan. Door opening in gable end. Ashlar gable parapets and gabled roof with glazed glover at ridge. Interior not inspected.

{3} At ground level the dovecote measures 15ft6in by 19ft6in; the walls are three feet thick and have a slight batter. The height to the eaves on the west side is 12ft and to the ridge about 30ft and some two feet less on the east side because of the rising ground. Small window on west side with a grindstone for a sill; similar on east without sill. Doorway on west side and oak lintel and frame appear original. Contains c 550 stone nesting boxes; photographs
