Full Description

{1}Four houses, now one dwelling. Early C18. Regular coursed limestone, part rendered, with thatch roof. Originally each 2- and 3-unit plans. 2 storeys. Together comprising a 6-window range of leaded casements, some renewed, under wood lintels. Central 4-panelled door and C20 door and porch to far right. Brick stacks at ridge and end. Rear similar. Interior not inspected but noted as having an open fireplace with bressumer.

{3}Four houses, early 18th century. Originally each 2- and 3- unit plans. 2 storeys. In recent times have been converted just to form one house.

{4} Application from parish council to fix plaque to building, which they identify as the village workhouse. Basis for this is not made clear however. If this is a workhouse then it is probably of an early vintage.

{5}Wollaston had a Poor House.

{6]The Inclosure map of 1789 shows the workhouse to have been nos 82 and 84 High Street.

{7} Two undated photos also photo dated May 1978;
