Summary
Collyweston House is located on the northern side of Back Lane. The house was built in 1838 of coursed rubble and freestone dressings with a hipped Collyweston slate roof with central ashlar chimney stacks. A slightly recessed addition on the right of the house was constructed in a similar style during the mid to late 19th century. The main facade has a symmetrical three window front of sashes surrounded by freestone dressings with timber hoods. The ground floor has three similar openings, each with a keystone. The opening on the left is a large sash window, a blocked window is in the centre with an entrance door on the right with a rectangular fanlight. The addition to the right has a single window range of similar windows.

{1} Shown on 1841 Enclosure Map.
{2} Collyweston House, of two storeys, was built in 1838 as an L-shaped house with stair in the entrant angle. Later in the 19th century the central entrance passage was incorporated into the north room and a new doorway formed in the window of the south room; the entrant angle was filled and additions were made on the east and south. Walling of coursed rubble with freestone quoins and window dressings; hipped roof. On a chimney stack is a stone panel inscribed '1838 TC' for Thomas Close (Burghley Estate Office, Court Rolls).
