Summary
A post medieval dovecote and attached outbuildings located about 10 meters north west of Collyweston House, on the northern side of Back Lane. They are probably late 17th century in origin but mainly mid 18th century in structure. The outbuildings include a stable and coach house. The buildings are constructed of squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roofs. The stable/coachhouse has a wagon entrance and a plank door with a leaded casement and an eaves dormer on the right. The dovecote is attached to the right and retains a pyramid roof surmounted by an access lantern and internal nesting boxes.

Full Description
{1} Stables, coachhouse and attached dovecote now outbuildings, garage and dovecote. Probably late C17 origin, mainly mid C18. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally stables for 2 horses, coachhouse with hayloft over, and attached rectangular dovecote. C20 garage doors and plank door to left. One leaded casement, to first floor left, and eaves dormer to right. Left gable has ashlar parapets. Left gable has sash window under stone lintel with keyblock. Rear elevation has C2 windows and one eaves dormer. Dovecote, attached to right of main front, has central glover with pyramid roof. Interior: some C18 roof structure remains. There is evidence in the gable end that the roof was raised, probably from thatch in C18. Dovecote not inspected but noted as having nesting boxes.
