Full Description
{1} At the western end of Trench 1 a cobbled yard surface was recovered on which were sherds of 17-19th century pottery and clay tobacco pipe fragments. Also within trench 1 lay a N/S aligned ditch forming a shallow linear feature,containing a small pit and a post glacial tree hole, finds were recovered of medieval pottery.
The shallow linear feature had also been intersected by a Post Medieval field boundary.
Trench 2 contained an identical cobbled surface with the same type of finds as that of Trench 1. Beneath the cobbled surface lay a wide shallow pit, which was cut into by a N/S aligned ditch. Finds from the ditch were of 12th century date.
