Full Description

{2} A co-axial system of ditched enclosures were recorded in the central part of the site aligned N/S and E/W. The system cut an earlier rectilinear enclosure which was on a different alignment. A linear gully with a V profile base orientated NW/SE measuring 0.45m wide and 0.26m deep. This feature was truncated by a perpendicular gully running N/S with irregular concave sides breaking to a rounded base. The feature measured 0.45m wide X 0.12m deep and became shallower towards the south prior to terminating. To the south of this feature was a probable gully orinetated N/S thought to be a continuation of the perpendicular gully. It exhibited moderate, regular, concave sides and an irregular concave base measuring 0.35m x 0.15m deep. A shallow N/S aligned ditch with steep sides and a flattish base measured up to 0.7m wide x 0.09m deep. A ditch to the south may have been a related element of a co-axial enclosure/field system. The feature contained steep sides and a concave base measuring 0.7m X 0.25m deep.
There were a series of eight pits with only one containing finds. This pit was of circular shape with irregular sloping sides and a concave base measuring 0.7m wide and 0.25m deep, there were finds of fired clay, animal bone and a small amount of struck flint.
