Full Description

{1} A further five inhumations were recorded at three separate locations across the watching brief and excavation areas. Although their context was not always well reported they also seem to be aligned on property boundaries and thus represent further examples of this common later Roman tradition that ran alongside burial in formal extra-urban or peripheral cemeteries.

{2} Single inhumation, supine with the head to the east and possibly in a wooden coffin as defined by nails.
