Full Description
{1} Further north outside the settlement the side ditches of an unmetalled track way recorded by excavations may constitute the continuation of the road (Mon 3960/1).
{2} To the east of the settlement two parrallel ditches running in a north south direction crossed the site and may have originally flanked a road or drove way. They were traced a distance of 300ft. The ditches which had been recut on a number of occasions were approx 1-2ft deep into natural bedrock lying at a width of 30ft apart. The only dating evidence recovered was weathered Iron Age pot sherds. There is no direct evidence to link the ditches to the settlement (Mon 3957) it is assumed that the trackway continued south to meet the settlement.
