Full Description

{1} It seems likely that there was already a Chapel on the North Bridge by 1300-1 when William de Sylkeby was chaplain of Ashton Bridge. At this date he held the rights to collect alms but was to maintain the bridge from the revenues he received.
In 1565 there was still a chapel on the bridge, on the west side of the river on the north west side of the bridge.
The bridge (and presumably the chapel?) was destroyed in 1570.
