Full Description
{1}The enclosure of the butts in Castle field to the rear of the property to create what was by 1830 the Tithe Orchard.
Although many of these tenements extended with crofts back to the back lane or to the park boundary, in the northern third of the town there were still open leys or butts between the tenements and the back lane, giving tenements of similar length on the west side as on the east side of the main street.
