Full Description
{1} Associated with the college was a grammer school, believed to have origins around the year 1412, when patents for its foundation and endowment from Henry VI.
The schoolmasters house, said to consist of a house, yard and garden and a schoolroom abutting the churchyard. These buildings are said to have been in the north west corner of the churchyard. (An unpublished watching brief for Northamptonshire Archaeology 1990, revealed little evidence of these buildings).
By 1830 few children attended the school, it remained as a free school until 23rd June 1876, when the trustees were authorised to change premises. The new location for the school being along the village street to the west.
