Full Description
{1} Iron Age pits watching brief by G Cadman. SP9025 7633
{2} A series of at least 17 sub-circular pits and other features containing Iron Age pottery were uncovered. These extended across the width of the road-corridor and along its length for a distance of over 70m. SP9025 7633
{3} 24 pits, a series of gullies and four 'hollows' stretched along the road cutting for 73m. The features may include ther emains of two posible huts. A total of 175 sherds of middle Iron Age pottery was recovered from 22 of the features and a further 68 sherds were uinstratified. SP9025 7633
{4} Features comprised a total of 24 pits or possible pits, parts of 2 curvilinear gullies, 3 other shorter straight gully fragments and 4 hollow forms of indeterminate form. Details of individual features are given. C.SP9027 7631 to SP9034 7634.
