Full Description

{1} There are documentary references to a possible medieval nunnery or cell at Ecton. Local tradition states that Ecton House was formerly "a nunnery or cell sub-ordinate to Delapre Abbey.

{3} There is also reference to a holding of the Priory of St Mary, and this may explain the reference to a courtyard at the back of The Hall called The Nun’s Court.
