Full Description

{1} Four stone cottages were converted into Almshouses in 1969, and the original stone slabs were taken from inside the cottages and used as paving for the path which now surrounds the cottages. The path is now breaking up and a 'french drain' is being installed. During the works a well, which had been covered with a single stone slab, was uncovered in what had been the cottage gardens. The privy was also somewhere in this area. The drain will now discharge into the well which had running water at the bottom. The well was very well constructed, of dressed stone. It was 9m deep.
