Monument record 3546/1/1 - Great Doddington Roman villa

Air photographs show a rectangular stone building containing five rooms on the N.E. side of a courtyard with slight traces of other buildings on its S.W. side.

{5} Three circular houses and a small rectangular house lie on two sides of a walled yard. One end of the rectangular house appears to overlie an earlier structure whose age and purpose are undetermined.
The simplest plans consist of a single row of rooms. One version has rooms of equal size, as here, where an original row of three rooms seems to have been extended by building on a fourth.
