{2} A large bank, 120m long and up to 30m wide with a maximum height of 5m. There is a large gap in the centre of the channel, now dry, leading east to the modern stream. Traces of an overflow channel, now recut to form the present stream course, exist at the south end.

{3} Site inspection of watermill/dam at SP 8235 8523; Stone revetting comprising up to 8 courses of large, rough hewn unmortared stone fragments present along west face just to the south of the centre of the dam. Other stone to the south - probably rubble core as opposed to facing stone. Modern stone sculpture on top of south portion of moat with adjacent steps.
