Full Description
{1} Interpreted by NMP as an enclosure, presumably banked.
{2} On the west of the site is a massive sinuous bank up to 4m high, which extends north-west from the stream near Pipewell Hall ('h' on the plan). This appears to be the dam of a pond which formerly occupied a large area north and north-west of the hall. It provided power for the abbey mill, which would thus have been situated at the south end of the dam, just north-east of the hall. No trace of the mill can be seen.
