Monument record 113/0/3 - Undated enclosure, east of Fermyn Woods

A square enclosure has been recorded as a cropmark. Fieldwalking survey did not identify evidence of occupation.

{1} Enclosure (SP 97178517), on level ground at 300ft above OD on Boulder Clay in the north of the parish. It is visible on air photographs (in NMR) as an almost square ditched feature covering about two hectares. The west side is obscured by a modern hedge.

{4} Report of cropmark. No occupation debris; a few pebbles and one Roman sherd which could be related to Aldwincle 3. Site could be a park building or farmstead (a pond lies to the north). No post-medieval sherds.
