Summary

A bowl barrow located 700m north of Woodford Mill. It is visible as a mound measuring 30m in diameter and 0.5m in height. Surrounding the mound is a quarry ditch which is visible as a slight depression.

Full Description

{1} Cropmark; ring ditch; ploughed out barrow on the river flood plain with the usual pink soil; SP974759.

{2} Site visit to mound at SP97357595. Roughly circular mound, approx 30m in diameter standing to a height of 0.5m. North and west sides were indistinct; south and east sides are demarcated by a low scarp. Localised flooding at lower side suggesting the presence of a partly encircling ditch. Probably barrow recorded by Hall and Hutchings.
