Full Description

{1} Cropmarks; a series of ditches including the former north to south aligned field boundary; also possible ring ditches; linear features including recent boundaries and possible ring ditches and a windmill-mound like structure. However all are suspect; NCC Aerial Photograph: SP4936/007.

{2} One of the linear cropmarks corresponds to a sequence of strong magnetic anomalies. The anomalies could represent a length of iron pipe, of they could indicate debris or disturbances along the line of a former boundary.

{3} A ditch that was probably along a former hedged field boundary was present at the east end of trench 1. Post- medieval pottery and glass were recovered from the ditch.
