Full Description

{1} Cropmarks; a series of ditches including the former north to south aligned field boundary; also possible ring ditches; linear features including recent boundaries and possible ring ditches and a windmill-mound like structure. However all are suspect; NCC Aerial Photograph: SP4936/007.

{2} One of the probable hut circles detected by the survey corresponds clearly with a cropmark.

{3} A ditch aligned east to west, 2.02m wide and 0.59m deep. Its fill contained slag, Iron Age pottery and animal bone. The ditch had been re-cut on its northern side. The re-cut was 0.78m wide and 0.28m deep. South of the ditch was a stone surface of compacted limestone and sandstone fragments. It measured 13m long, 5m wide and 0.35m deep. Fragments of Iron Age pottery were recovered from its surface.
