Earthwork: Unconfirmed overlay

{4} A previous survey by RCHME shows part of a possible rectangular enclosure denoted by low scarps. The northern part of the feature has since been largely obliterated by the construction of the ponds while at the south, the earthwork is not detectable.

{6} Regular rectangular earthwork depression aligned perpendicular to street frontage (approx 15m wide by 20m long and 1m deep). Predates post medieval property boundaries - no feature entered on 1758 Enclosure map or 1900 25" O.S. map. Possible medieval or early post medieval cellared building. Other alternatives are that the feature could be a stone quarry or fishpond.
