Full Description
{1} Faint cropmarks; possible sub-rectangular ditched enclosure with possible further enclosure adjoining to north; NCCAP:SP7739/016;
{2} Magnetometry survey carried out to the west of Deanshanger. Near to the southern end of the survey area there is a weakly positive linear anomaly aligned north-west to south-east, with various other short and disjointed linear anomalies lying in close association to it. It is likely that these anomalies represent fragmentary elements of the Roman field system ditches previously identified in the Northfields Farm excavations. At their eastern end there is a weak annular anomaly, approximately 9m across, which provides very tenuous evidence for a possible Iron Age or Romano-British roundhouse.
