Full Description

{1} At Heathencote, also very shrunken, is a fine windmill mound and ditch.

{4} Earthwork of a circular mound 20m in diameter and 1.8m high, surrounded by a ditch 0.4m deep. A probable medieval windmill site. The north side and the interior is damaged but there are still traces of the original central depression. The surrounding ridge and furrow does not impinge on the mound.

{6} SP 70874794. The remains of a sub-circular mound in an exposed hill top position under permanent pasture. It formerly measured c 20.0m in overall diameter, and survives to a height of c 1.8m on the S side. The N side and interior have been mutilated by digging, but there is trace of an original central depression.
On the E and W is the remains of a once surrounding 'scraped out' ditch c 0.4m deep. The mound is in the midst of and is respected by amorphous medieval enclosure pattern, and rig and furrow. This is almost
certainly a windmill mound, typical in size and situation to this region. Surveyed at 1:2500.
