Earthwork: Unconfirmed overlay

{1} In the park a number of earthworks have been preserved because of the absence of cultivation. As well as pillow mounds, these include other banks, hollow ways and ditches which have been recorded in detail elsewhere.

{2} Hollow way 80m long x 8m wide x up to 2m deep. It runs parallel to the Fawsley/Badby parish boundary, just inside the park.

{3} At SP573580 the field archaeology (of the Saxon charter) is complicated. The remaining banks may have delimited tracks, such as the road from Everdon to Southam, said to have been defective between Badby Wood and Fawsley Park in the court roll of Badby manor of 16th April 1629.
