Full Description

{2} A sharply defined ditch-like feature up to 1m deep, with a rounded terminal but is truncated on the north by the fence. A low mound, some 0.6m high, spread along its eastern side may be material deposited following re-cutting. This feature may have been the continuation of a track between medieval crofts originating north of the Adstone Road although it is considerably deeper.

{3} An area of low resistance to the north of the orchard passed over several well defined earthwork banks and ditches, however, these have not responded particularly well to the earth resistance survey.
Pg 9: The probable enclosures to the NE of the main group show a less ordered layout and may reflect more haphazard development that either pre or post dates the enclosures that run parallel with Preston Capes Road.

{4} To the south-east [of the main settlement] along the Adstone Road, other closes remain. North of the church, other earthworks are indeterminate scarps and hollows of uncertain purpose and date. Fig.34.
