Full Description

{4} The rabbit warren was held at least in the early C16th by Fotheringhay College. In 1508-9 there was inclosure of land towards 'le Connyngerthwonge'. In 1548 a close called the 'Conygre' and formerly held by the College, lay to the west of the College tenement near the south west end of the village. It's exact extent is uncertain. This is the area where the pillow mound was recorded by RCHME. Conygree Close or Hop Ground is recorded in 1807 schedule to the 1716 map.

{5} A well-preserved mound seen as early as 1972. It is subrectangular, about 54ft x 27ft x 2ft high and is surrounded on all sides by a ditch. It is possibly later than the ridge and furrow in the surrounding area. It is probably a pillow mound.

{6} Earthworks of a pillow mound: the long, rectangular, flat-topped mound lies within an area of ridge and furrow with which it is probably contemporary. At the south end the ploughing of the adjacent ridge has broken down the outer lip of the surrounding ditch.
