Full Description

{1} Pit alignment is almost 1km in length and runs roughly parallel to the eastern side of the Fotheringhay Lodge complex and parallel to the River Nene to its east. Its form is sinuous and although there is a gap near the southern end (created by quarrying and modern drainage) it is likely to have once been continuous. [SMR note 06/10/2010: the southern section is separately indexed under Mon 2599/0/1.] Plan: Fig 50.
