Monument record 2923/0/6 - Undated boundaries, south of Collyweston

Cropmarks of a fragmented linear ditch and perpendicular pit-defined boundary possibly part of a later prehistoric or Roman field system mapped from aerial photographs as part of the Rutland Roman Villa project. Cropmarks of further boundary ditches were identified to the north-west during the Northants NMP. The cropmarks were interpreted as post-medieval during the NMP.

{2} Cropmarks of a fragmented linear ditch (NE-SW aligned) and perpendicular pit-defined boundary possibly part of a later prehistoric or Roman field system mapped from aerial photographs as part of the Rutland Roman Villa project. The ditch is aligned NE-SW and extends 325m in sections. The pit alignment is traceable for 34m, is aligned NW-SE, meeting the ditch at c. SK 9932 0258. The ditch follows the line of a slight embanked boundary of uncertain date which may be associated it.The two ditched and pit-defined features may be part of a larger system of ditches and pit-defined boundaries NRHE 348151 located to the SE of these.
