Full Description

{1} Linear earthwork running parallel to stream is possibly a leat; NCCAP:SP7855/024-025.

{2} Earthwork/soilmark recorded by aerial photography. Possible medieval hollow way; NCCAP:SP7855/021-023.

{3} A well-marked hollow way extends from near the stream up the hillside towards The Grange. It can be traced for some 350m as a broad trackway, up to 1.5m deep. Near it south end it is crossed by another, east-west hollow way, the east end of which has been obliterated by modern ploughing. The existence of these hollow way indicates the partial extent of the medieval road system of the area, which differed considerably from the modern one.
