Full Description
{3} In trenches 3, 13, 14 and 32 were extraction pits, of probable post-medieval date. All areas of extraction were located in the southern part of the site and correspond with the areas of ironstone and limestone deposits. The backfilled material from the pits had fragments of modern brick and pottery.
