Monument record 4982/0/1 - Prehistoric pit alignment

[Part of the Hunsbury Hill Complex] Excavation uncovered part of a pit alignment, Iron Age or earlier in date.

{1} Pit Alignment (SP 73635932-73705931), found during excavation of the Neolithic Causewayed Enclosure. Part of a pit alignment running east-west was discovered on the north side of the Neolithic enclosure and a length of 112 m excavated. No internal dating evidence was found but it was cut by pits of Roman date and is thus of Iron Age or earlier date. It runs parallel to and 300 m north of a similar alignment; SP73635932-73705931;
