Full Description

{2} Observation indicates that lush vegetation corresponds to aerial photo linear features.

{3} Identified as probable archaeology during the geophysical survey

{4} This feature was not identified in either of the two trenches that targeted it.

{5} In Area 6, ditch was recorded for 30m in a north-west/south-east alignment. The ditch measured c. 2m wide and 1.05m deep and was V-shaped in profile. The ditch extended to the north-west and south-east beyond the limit of Area 6 and appeared to correspond to activity revealed by cropmarks. No finds were recovered from the fills of the ditch, however, it is likely that it represents the continuation of Iron Age activity recorded as cropmarks to the west of the site and for this reason has been phased as Late Prehistoric.
