Full Description
{2} The village had a strikingly rectangular shape made up of three separate parts. The main part, to the north-east, consisted of a roughly rectangular area bounded on the north-east by a broad hollow way up to 2m deep (marked 'a' on the earthwork plan). At its north-west end this hollow way meets the modern track to Muscott House which is probaly on the line of the road which once bounded the village to the north-west. Just east of the bend in the modern track a hollow way curves south-east and then south to a small triangular area with a low mound in its centre (marked 'b' on the plan). From this one hollow way continues south-west towards Muscott House (marked 'c' on the plan). Annother runs south-east and then turns north-east to join the first mentioned hollow way. Another hollow way extends north-eastwards.
