Full Description

{1} Aerial photos NCCAP: SP5170/001-17.

{2} G. Hatton pers comm. The circular mound is more likely to by a dovecote than a mill as the manor of Barby is documented as only having one mill (at a known location in Barby), while it is documented as having had two dovecotes. "Lord Zouch had on his estate two mills and a dovecote. One windmill is at a known location in Barby and also one is known from his land in Blakesly, therefore this would suggest that this structure was a dovecote".
