Monument record 8478/2/1 - Mineral Railway Serving Desborough Quarries

An embankment across the Ise valley once carried a standard guage tramway from the Thorpe Underwood Ironstone quarry to the Midland Railway at Desborough. It was opened in 1916 and closed in 1930.. An associated bridge had been demolished by the 1960s.
