Full Description

{1} A number of features were observed some 170m east of Area 1 during the course of soil stripping. Subsequent excavation revelealed 10 features, mostly pits of irregular shape and depth, that may have been quarry scoops for locating ironstone erratics. A small cylindrical pit was also found. Occupation is reinforced by the pottery and charcoal flecks.
C14 determinations from charcoal found in Pits 28 & 29 in Area 2 gave a date of 2500+-80bp (Har 4064)(630-470BC). When calibrated according to the curve of Clark (1975) these dates become 865 +100/-95BC and 755 +80/-140BC.
