Full Description

{3} Upstanding earthworks were noted during the geophysical survey.

{4} The earthworks were dominated by a series of broadly east to west orientated linear depressions, each c8.5m from the next. The remains were well defined, the rise and fall between the base and the ridge was c0.5m. A further set of slightly less distinct linear depressions were noted in the south-west quarter of the site; these were aligned north to south and were c8.0m apart. Remnant ridge and furrow from the medieval/post-medieval system of agriculture. The two systems are divided by a ditch aligned north-east to south-west marked on an enclosure map of 1779.

The less distinct earthworks may have been disturbed by later activity, possibly quarrying.
