Full Description

{1} Extensive yard operated by the Metropolitan & Yorkshire Brick Co.; closed in 1937.

{2} In about 1920 a works was opened here by A.Hamson, the local iron ore operator. Two small circular down-draught kilns were operated and there was a horizontal single cylinder tangye steam engine to drive the machinery and haul wagons up from the pits on the east side of the site.
