Full Description
{1} Eydon Hill Brickyard was operated by the Barnett family.
{2} A brickyard on Barnetts Hill made bricks and drainpipes for land draining; bricks for the kitchen garden wall at Eydon Hall were made here.
{3} These two small yards (along with HER 6368/1), each with its own kiln, appear to have worked over the period 1877-1900 (known operating dates). Up to 1885 at least one was operated by George Barnett and the other by William Mawby. Since they were both still in operation in 1900 and by 1894 Mawby is the only brickmaker recorded, it is possible that he took over both works.
