Monument record 816/2 - Boughton Manor (Gunfrid de Cioches)

{1} The smaller manor was held by Gunfrid de Cioches. Gelding for half a hide. In 1473 the (smaller) manor acquired a crenellated mansion and the park was constructed. This manor was purchased in 1528 by Sir Edward Montagu. In 1547 600 sheep are recorded as being maintained on the manor.
