Full Description

{1} Known operating dates: 1877-1927. This brickworks, which produced best red facing bricks, was operated by the Watkin family, at least until 1894. In 1885 they were also burning lime. The 1883 6" O.S. Map shows a large works with four circular downdraught kilns close by. By 1901 these had disappeared and the kiln type is no longer obvious. The works was disused by 1940.
