As this brickyard is still sporadically in use at this time it maybe this brickyard but there is no evidence yet, saying that it is this brickyard.
{3} Brickworks, Long Buckby Station. Brickyard near Long Buckby Station operated since 1831; closed in 1915, but re-opened in 1920 as The Long Buckby Brick Company; closed again in 1933 and re-opened after the Second World War; finally closed in 1960's. The area is now occupied by an electricity sub-station and factory.
{5} The Johnson family worked this yard from 1831-74 and by 1884 a small brickworks is shown on the 0.S. Map some distance from an old clay pit. Broughtons worked the yard in the first decade of the 20th century but it had passed to J.H. Sparrow by 1910. The Broughtons are shown as brick and tile and later brick and pipe makers. A portable steam engine was used to drive the pug mill at this time.
The yard closed for some years, before it was reopened about 1920 by the Long Buckby Brick Co. (under the ownership of Watsons of Coventry - later Bate and Sons). Wire cut bricks were at first produced using either an up- or downdraught kiln but in 1925 a continuous one was erected, and in 1927 pressed brick production was commenced. The works closed in 1933, and remained disused until World War II when it was used for the storage and repair of ammunition boxes.
Facing bricks were produced when the works reopened after the war, under the ownership (at least in the last years) of Sankeys. Final closure was about 1960. In 1965 the site was taken over by Daventry Engineering Ltd.
