Summary
The original John Cave factory was destroyed in a fire on April 11th 1877. The replacement factory was erected on the same site, but was also destroyed by fire in 1901. The business then moved to alternative premises. A very small piece of walling survives to the rear of the Ritz Bingo hall.

Full Description
{1} John Cave and Sons Shoe Factory, High Street. The original John Cave factory was located in High Street and was destroyed in a fire on April 11th 1877. The replacement factory was erected on the site, but this factory was also destroyed by fire in 1901. The business then moved to alternative premises. A very small piece of walling survives to the rear of the Ritz Bingo hall. Film 3, photo 14.
